Being vocal is critical to long term success.  The go-getter knows that when something goes awry the quiet one takes the fall.

Excited About Work!

The go-getter is almost always excited about their work.  And that’s great!  This is not to be confused with ex-cited work though.  Ex-cited work is defined as any piece of work, generally articles or publications, that was cited by another publication but new facts lead to the original piece of work to be debunked, and therefore, no longer cited by the secondary work (perhaps leading to what is commonly known as a “runaway ex-citing” if that secondary work is cited by a tertiary work, etc).  The go-getter wants their work to be exciting; not ex-cited. 

Use of Backstories

To understand someone's perspective it is sometime's necessary to know their backstory.  In order to help others gain your perspective faster you should have a concise backstory ready to go upon request.  The go-getter always has their backstory at the ready and should feel that it is reasonable to request others to share their backstory in larger groups with absolutely no warning.

Getting the Word Out

The First Amendment of the Constitution protects freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly and petition (something everybody, especially randos on the Mall, knows already).  A blog (such as this one!) is an example of freedom of speech and freedom of press (Obsidian Finance Group v. Crystal Cox). The go-getter has heard that there are eight distinct vehicles that can be used to exercise Freedom of Speech, but can only think of like six.

Meaning of Leadership

Everybody interprets what being a leader means a little differently.  Since every situation is unique what qualifies as good leadership in one place may not suit another.  The go-getter understands that leadership means different things to different people and each interpretation of leadership is usually acceptable.

Sharpness

Being sharp is critical for the aspiring go-getter.  For inspiration of what can happen when one is especially sharp they need not look further than the nearest cheese drawer.  The go-getter knows that being sharp is just one of the many things that cheddar cheese, more recent iPhone cameras, and leaders have in common.

But...What Is It?

Sure, the go-getter gets it, we all saw that coming.  But it raises a very basic question.  What is it?  The go-getter understand that it's it and that is actually pretty Epic.

Getting It

Some people get it.  Some don't.  The go-getter gets it, obviously.

Prime Day

Today is Prime Day!  Everybody knows that this means Amazon is going to run deals all day.  Most people know that seven and 11 are prime numbers.  Less people realize that Amazon hit the triple crown with 2017 also being a prime number for their Prime Day.  Neat!  The go-getter realizes this but still suspects that you will google this to verify.

Leaders are like Songs

People listen to leaders.  People listen to songs.  The go-getter understands that the best way to lead is through song.

Boring Activities

Sometimes the things that need to be done aren't the most exciting.  In fact, sometimes they aren't exciting at all!  The go-getter still completes these uninspiring, but important, activities even if they are just about as exciting as watching somebody watching golf without the sound on.

Messages

Messages can come from any number of places.  This can include co-workers, friends, the media, music, etc.  The go-getter is always receptive to messages regardless of their origin as messages that potentially carry a significant impact to one's life can come from the unlikeliest of places; including chocolate wrappers.

Blog Unveiling

In today's increasingly digital economy having enough content on a blog before unveiling it is critical.  The go-getter knows this and reveals their blog when the time is right; sometimes this timing can be related to a rumored nickname change.

Reach for the Stars?

Should the go-getter reach for the stars?  No, the go-getter set their visions on difficult, yet achievable, goals that cause the go-getter to stretch their skills in order to achieve.  No matter how flexible the go-getter is, however, they cannot reach the stars.  The Sun, the closet star, is just shy of 100 million miles away.  Chya right.  But let's say that you could reach the Sun, it would be way too hot to touch.  Likely well over 98 Degrees.  So even if you were Larger Than Life and could reach the Sun why would you even want to?  Best to stay in sync with your skillset and set your sights on tough but achievable goals.  The go-getter understands this and says Bye Bye Bye to reaching for the stars.

Search Engines

Do go-getters use Bing?  No, they use Google.  You can't spell Google without "go" and the go-getter finds this funny; but not that funny.

Team

There is no "I" in team.  The younger the go-getter learns this the less likely they are to be eliminated in the first round Mrs. Robinson's second grade spelling bee.

Inspiration

Inspirational sayings are good.  Inspirational doings are better.  The go-getter doesn't just say they do.

Training

Sometimes one needs to take courses to go-get where they need to be (skill-wise).  Other times one needs to take the subway to go-get where they need to be (geographicaly).  The go-getter values training as a great way to get where they are going.
